Adventure to the South: Group Trip to Almaty
While we love Astana, we can’t let you leave Kazakhstan without seeing Almaty. Nestled at the foot of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains, Almaty is the country’s cultural heart and a complete departure from the Steppes.
We are inviting anyone who is interested to join us from August 17th through the 20th for a few days of mountain air, local history, and quality time together.

The Journey
To get there, we are planning to take the overnight train from Astana. It’s a classic, unique way to see the landscape, but for those who prefer a quicker trip, a 90-minute flight on Air Astana is also an easy option.
What to Expect
Unlike our celebration in Astana, the Almaty trip is all about the outdoors and being on the move. We’ll be working with a travel agency we know and trust to handle the logistics, bookings, and transport once we arrive.
You can expect:
Mountain Peaks: We'll head up to places like Shymbulak and Medeu to take in the views from 3,000 meters up.
Natural Wonders: We hope to show you the turquoise waters of Big Almaty Lake and the stunning architecture of the Ascension Cathedral (one of the tallest wooden buildings in the world).
Casual Vibe: This part of the trip is less formal. Pack your comfortable walking shoes, sneakers, and layers—it can get windy and cool once we get into the higher elevations!

Because we are booking this through a travel service, we need to get a solid headcount to determine the final cost per person.
We expect to have the full itinerary and pricing locked in by June 2026.
